Interim Pastor

Tom and Stacy Pasquarella

Who am I?

I am called of God to preach the gospel. I am not accustomed to the title of pastor, I feel unworthy of the call, but I have been called none the less. I am a flawed man with an unflawed God. Called to preach the unbroken gospel of the Godman who was broken and bruised on our behalf, crushed by Father, to taste death for His people.

I was called to preach in 2003.  I graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006 and called to preach at Cornerstone Baptist Church until it closed in 2019. I never stopped preaching, but my role changed in these last four years, I became a faithful church member. I have ministered to our SBC churches around the lake. In 2021 I was called to be the Association Mission Strategist for Big Lake Baptist Association, a fancy title that meant I would be ministering and encouraging our pastors and churches.

I have been called to ministry with my bride who was called to take this journey with me, a journey to which God has called us to together. Stacy was not dragged into ministry, but willingly spends and is spent for the gospel of Christ. She is my favorite wife, my bride, who God has fitly place here as my helpmeet, my sustainer, the one who walks with me through the trials of this life.

Stacy and I have been blessed with our three children Vincenzo who is 25, Giovanna who is 19, and MiaDonna who is 18. They are gifts of grace in our lives that help us to look like Jesus. We are not perfect parents, our kids can tell you this, but one thing my kids know and will tell you is, that I love their momma and I love them.

On July 23rd I accepted the call to be an interim pastor of Canal Point Baptist Church, helping Canal Point in their task to reach this community and in their desire to have the kind of pastor that they need. I am excited to help Canal Point as they find their identity walking forward as a congregation and growing in depth.

“Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” (Matthew 9:37) The harvest is truly great. John Piper tells us “Missions is not the ultimate goal of the Church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” So, let us “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:38) The laborers for the work will come from the harvest of souls in this community and others around them.
